Taste of the Neighborhood and a New Name for its Park

Plans are underway for the Third Annual Taste of The Neighborhood Celebration and Fundraiser. This year’s neighborhood get-together will take place on Sunday September 20th at 3pm. If you have attended one of these, then you know that this event has already established itself as a highlight of the late summer and early Autumn. Volunteers are always in demand for our events…current needs center on setup, tear down and for someone to act as an event photographer. Especially to meet our permit requirements, a Certified Food Worker needs to be present. So if you are certified and plan to be present at The Taste of The Neighborhood on September 20th , please email us at highlandparkrochester@gmail.com. Your responsibility: Name on permit, verify that the Food Committee is following proper procedures and to be present for the duration of the event. And enjoy the event. And if you remember the front page article in the last issue of the Buzz, plans are moving forward to have the Playground Park that hosts this event renamed as “Ellwanger and Barry Park”. More on the status of the renaming in our next very next Blast. You should also know that we have signed Bobby Henrie and The Goners as the musicians for this affair. So mark it down and then bring your whole family ready to Rock, Swing, Dance and have a Good Time!
