The updated Highland Park Neighborhood Association Exhibit,
The Arboretum That Became a Neighborhood is on display at City Hall until August 27th. If you have seen this version in the City Hall waiting area, please let us know what you think of our efforts. And if you haven’t had a chance yet, consider this your invitation! Part of that display is a growing collection of stories from residents’ pastand present that we call our virtual scrapbook. Considering adding yours…if you have a story, newspaper article or photos… or if you know someone else who does? We would like to include your contribution in our neighborhood’s display, a portion of which will be at the upcoming the Taste of the Neighborhood celebration. Send these in by
e-mail or call us at
473-0026, (and we can also schedule to scan your materials if before the 6th). Also, along with other groups from around the city, we are working with the city historian to collect “oral histories” about our neighborhood. If you are interested or know of someone who would be, please contact us to make an appointment. The collection of oral histories and virtual scrapbook items will be ongoing.
