Our series of Family Friendly Guided Tours of Highland Park co-sponsored by the Highland Park Neighborhood Association and the Highland Park Conservancy will resume in September. Amy Priestley will also lead autumn themed tours in October and November. And 2012 will continue the tradition of a special guided January trip through the Lamberton Conservatory.
Amy attended graduate school at Oregon State University’s College of Forest Science and her love of all that grows has extended to her business Labor of Love Garden Design & Landscape Artistry. If you have had the pleasure to take one of her tours you know they are also a labor of love.
Tours features themes and aspects of the park tied to seasonal changes and the variety of the collections. The tours are generally introductory but repeat attendees will find new content on each guided walk in the series.
Tours are free. Attendees should meet at the Log Bench outside Lamberton Conservatory at 171 Reservoir Avenue at 1 pm on the day of the tour. Wear Comfortable Walking Shoes. Children always welcome.
Themes for the next three tours in this series:
September 17, 2011: “The Very End of Summer”
October 15, 2011: “Autumn in Our Highlands”
November 19,2011 “Pinetum in Fall”
And Coming in January 2012 – Lamberton Conservatory Tour
